Courtney Collins – Managing Partner/Instructor
Courtney Collins graduated with a BA in Marketing and Communications from Jacksonville University in Florida in 1992. She grew up with horses starting to ride at the age of 5. She spent her youth in Pony Club, 4H, and Fox Hunting in Virginia. Courtney is a Certified PATH Instructor (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship). After becoming certified and teaching at High Hopes Therapeutic Riding in Old Lyme CT, Courtney spent the last three years teaching at Manes & Motions in Middletown, CT. She specializes and works exceptionally well with beginner adult and youth riders. Courtney also had a 15 year career as an analyst for Bank of America. Courtney believes in using groundwork as a foundation for fostering confidence and independence in the saddle
Leanne Schroeder – General Manager/Head Trainer/Instructor
Leanne graduated with a B.S. In Animal Sciences from the University of Vermont in 1998. She then went on to become the facility manager and trainer at Long Shadows Farm in Cambridge, New York. While there, she developed a dressage training program and competed in USDF recognized events and CDI’s through Intermediate 1. Leanne is a USDF Silver Medalist and a USDF “L” Graduate with Distinction. After moving to Connecticut, she worked as the Stable Manager at Fox Ledge Farm in East Haddam. She has ridden for Carol Lavell, Eric Horgan, Henk van Bergen, Ann Guptil, Jennifer Baumert, and Gunnar Ostergaard. Leanne specializes in using classical dressage techniques to help horses and riders at all levels.
Tracey Woods – Instructor
Tracey started riding at the age of 10. As a Junior and Young Adult, she has successfully shown in the hunter, jumper, and equitation rings. Tracey has taught hunt seat lessons at 7Js Farm in Glastonbury, CT. In 2012, Tracey changed riding disciplines, and started riding and competing in Eventing and Dressage with her Off Track Thoroughbred mare, Dynamic Lisa. They attained numerous year end awards through Novice Level Eventing and First Level Dressage. Tracey and Dynamic Lisa are anticipating making the move up to Training Level Eventing next season, as well as solidifying and improving their dressage work. Tracey believes in creating a strong riding foundation and excellent horsemanship skills in all her students.
Molly Price – Assistant Barn Manager
Molly grew up competing in Child Hunters and then switched to AQHA. After high school, she worked at the North Stonington Veterinary Clinic and at Fox Ledge Farm. Currently Molly balances her time between THF, working at a JCP Portrait Studio and being a mom to her infant daughter Norah.
Justin Kolashuk – Maintenance Manager
Justin is a CT native. Before joining us at Treasure Hill he was Dock Lead/Transportation Manager at Kellogg Marine Supply. He has also previously worked in construction and landscaping. In his free time he volunteers at Highland Acres and enjoys spending time with his daughter.
Olivia Wolfe – Groom Staff
We are excited to have Olivia join the THF team this December. Olivia has been riding for most of her life and is eventing at the lower levels. She is currently attending Three Rivers Community College and has been a volunteer in High Hopes Therapeutic riding program.
Stef Vantine – Groom Staff (Part-time) and Riding Camp Instructor
Stef is a Middle School and High School music teacher during the day and works at THF on weekends and over the summer during camp season. She and her mare Bimini are schooling Second Level and have worked with Danielle Gavriluk and Michael Poulin.
Samantha Govoni – Groom Staff (Part-time)
Sam is a Senior biology student at the University of Rhode Island. She is Captain of the URI Dressage Team and has been competing with them for the last three years. Sam fell in love with riding at the age of eight and plans to continue her career with horses after she graduates.
Vicki Knopf and MaryAnn Smith – Publicity Committee
Vicki and MaryAnn are long-time clients of THF that have volunteered to do an amazing job with our advertising and promotional events. They have devoted their time, their brilliant ideas and their all-important sense of humor to making our events a success. They have also started writing our THF Newsletters and are largely responsible for the amazing THF logo apparel in our online store. We can’t thank them enough for everything they do.
Sally Harris – IT Support
Sally is a long time client of THF. She recently retired and has been invaluable helping us with our technical support. She recently realized her childhood dream of owning a horse and is “mom” to Marsh.
